- Apple has increased #iAd revenue share to developers from 60% to 70% (Source).

- #Heineken USA is partnering with the James Bond franchise to help push its flagship brand, while launching campaigns for Newcastle Brown Ale and Amstel Light, and introducing a Mexican brand, Indio. The Bond campaign will coincide with the fall release of “Skyfall” (Source).

- #Twitter has updated its BlackBerry app with a number of features that already existed on the app’s iOS and Android versions, such as link-shortening. A new feature also lets you connect your Twitter and BBM accounts, so you can share tweets as BBM Personal Messages (Source).

The Invisible Mercedes

The last time I remember seeing an invisible car was in 2002 James Bond movie “Die Another Day” and it surely was an Aston Martin. This time the invisible car is a Mercedes and it’s not just for a movie – it’s real. In order to promote the new Mercedes-Benz hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered, no gas emissions F-Cell vehicle, Mercedes had the idea to claim that it is “invisible to the environment”. So they created a clever PR stunt by covering the car with LEDs on one side and mounting a modified DSLR camera on the other. By displaying the video shot by the camera in real time, they made the car virtually invisible. The car travelled across Germany for a week and sometimes displayed a promotional message that read “Für die Umwelt unsichtbar. F-CELL mit 0,0 Emissionen” (“Invisible to the environment. Introducing the F-CELL, with 0 emissions”). This stunt certainly is a little nerdy but I think it has the potential to go viral and it looks like German consumers enjoyed it.
